Short title for calendar grid: KyOSS
Date: Wednesday, Nov 8, 2017
Time: 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Location: TEK Systems, first-floor conference room, 700 N.Hurstbourne Pkwy. (Steel Technologies Bldg.)

Liang Yan will show us how he's running a Kubernetes Cloud on a system-on-a-chip (SoC). Plus Jeff Squyres will give us a primer on DNS, the domain name system that makes the Internet user-friendly.

From Liang:

I am planning to show a demo about build your own k8s clusters on three
ARM machines this Wednesday.

I will use three pine64 A+ boards, with opensuse tumbleweed os, then
install etcd+flannel+k8s+docker, running your own nginx services or

All components are from binary, and you need to write your own
configure file and systemd file, totally DIY.

This talk will be around 40 minutes, anyway, I hope it won't bore you
and see you on Wednesdays.

From Jeff:

I'm happy to give an ad-hoc description of how DNS works (I won't have time to make up any slides, though).

DNS is actually a pretty remarkable system.
