Short title for calendar grid: KyOSS
Date: Wednesday, Jul 10, 2019
Time: 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Location: TEK Systems, first-floor conference room, 700 N.Hurstbourne Pkwy. (Steel Technologies Bldg.)

Deven Phillips will talk to us about "contract first" API development. Plus we'll discuss improvements to the website and the possibility of setting up a shared development server!

Contract First API Development: Accelerating Delivery And Consistency

How do you develop APIs and services efficiently and effectively while improving software quality and team productivity? That's called contract-first API development! By using tools like OpenAPI specification and generator tooling capable of leveraging it, you can leap ahead in your development by generating lots of the boilerplate code, some of your tests, and allowing multiple parallel workstreams within your team. In this session I will show you examples of how you can fast track your API and service development today!

Hi all!!!
I'm going to ACTUALLY BE IN TOWN for the July Meetup. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in hearing a preview of my CodepaLOUsa talk on Contract-First API development. I'm finishing the first draft now and would love to get some feedback.

Hey all,
I just went to, and found that it's *terribly* out of date -- It still has links to MossCon, and shows us as meeting at LVL1.

Thoughts on content and services provided by kyoss

I think that would be really helpful would be a listing of which businesses here in Louisville use Linux, and how they're using it (without breaking anyone's NDAs of course) -- having recently been unemployed (a situation that I've just remedied), knowing where to target my resumes would have been very helpful.

It would be cool for KyOSS to have a virtual computer lab -- I'm thinking about a modest sized hosted server that KyOSS members would have ssh access to, and perhaps email accounts on. This could be handy for hands-on workshops and could give members system administration experience.

Splitting this topic from the discussion of virtual linux lab.

Here's what I think should be on

(In no particular order)

  • Up to date meeting info (time, location, presenters, meeting topics)
  • Links to current and past presentation slides.
  • mailing list link (can we put the mailing list archives on the front page, instead of the forum?)
  • *current* list of associated meetings: JUGGL, JSLOU.

Just my two cents.
