Call for Papers: Code PaLOUsa 2013

Well it’s that time again when we start seriously ramping up efforts for Code PaLOUsa. Code PaLOUsa will be April 25-27, 2013 and the Call for Speakers is now open. For 2013, we will have 63 sixty-minute sessions spread across the following tracks:

  • Architecture & Design : What does it take to architect and design modern software applications?
  • Database Platforms and Development : Details about the different database platform options and how to develop for them.
  • Desktop & Tablet Development : Information on how develop application targeting running locally on Windows, Mac, or Linux desktops and tablets.
  • Developer Tools, Languages, and Frameworks : Get the latest information about tools to help developers develop and the languages and frameworks they use to develop with.
  • DevOps : Stressing communication, collaboration, and integration between software developers and information technology professionals, how to help organizations rapidly produce software products and services.
  • Mobility : All things mobile – platforms, devices, content distribution, social networking, community building, and anything else used in conjunction with mobile devices.
  • Methodology : Anything pertinent to how modern development methodologies help build software faster, cheaper, and better.
  • Project Management : Information on how to manage software development projects.
  • Requirements Management : Requirements are the foundation of good software development; learn how to product the highest quality requirements possible.
  • Software Testing : Formal software testing helps ensure that software development teams delivering the best quality product; learn how to implement the best software testing methodologies.
  • Web Development : Web services, AJAX frameworks, HTML5, and all things related to the browser.
  • WordPress, Portals, CMS & SharePoint : Details about the different CMS platforms and how to develop for them.

We will once again have the pre-conference day where we will offer our attendees half-day (3-hour) and full-day (6-hour) workshops. While there is no restriction on what will be accepted, some possible workshop topics include in-depth and/or hands-on workshops involving cloud technologies (Azure, Amazon, Google, etc.), database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, etc.), project management to include agile, developer and integration testing, mobile development (Android, iOS, Windows 8), and so on.

We will be taking speaker submissions through December 14th. We will send out speaker notifications the evening of December 18th with the plan to have the schedule ready for announcement by December 21st. Tickets will go on sale on December 22nd.
